I painted this after a quiet walk out to Point Pinos, Pacific Grove, where I spotted this regal seabird perched like a guardian on the rocks. Wings outstretched, holding court with the sea. It felt like a moment meant just for me, so I had to capture it. The palette knife gave me all the texture I needed to bring the water’s movement and the stone’s strength to life.
It’s a little piece of wild reverence, straight from the edge of the world.
